A long-awaited tunnel

The Marieholm Tunnel creates a much-needed new road beneath the Göta River in Gothenburg, reducing traffic queues through the Tingstad Tunnel. Inhouse Tech was commissioned to design plan the construction works both at the Tingstad Interchange on the Hisingen island side, and at the Marieholm Interchange on the mainland. Geotechnical challenges, complex bridge structures and heavy traffic flows in the working environment all placed high demands on our working group. Even so, many a resident of Gothenburg was certainly delighted when the long-awaited new tunnel opened in December 2020.
